Carl Jung’s work has significantly influenced how some view and use tarot, particularly through his concept of archetypes and the collective consciousness. Tarot cards are seen as tools for exploring uncertainty and facilitating self-discovery.
According to psychology, the collective consciousness consists of shared, inherited patterns of behaviour, ancestral memories, and personalities present within humanity. These offer insight into universal human experiences and support psychological development, self-realisation, and spiritual awakening.
Through tarot, individuals can gain guidance into their own life situations, personal challenges, and potential for growth. Carl Jung’s approach views tarot not as fortune-telling, but as a useful tool for self-discovery, personal transformation, intuitive receptivity, and understanding the deeper currents of the human psyche and the underlying factors influencing life paths.
Tarot is not an exact science. It is a tool to illuminate possible paths based on the actions the querent chooses to take.
CODE OF ETHICS – LOVE & RELATIONSHIP READINGS
When doing a reading about love and relationships, a third party may inevitably be part of the equation. It is acceptable to ask:
“What do I need to know about my relationship with…?”
However, questions such as:
“What is that person’s deepest secret?”
should be avoided. Another person’s secrets are theirs to reveal—or not—when and if they are ready.
According to my personal ethics, it is wrong to intentionally lay a spread about a specific person without their knowledge or permission, and therefore without their input. Doing so often results in wildly inaccurate conclusions.
Ask yourself why you want to secretly read another person. In many cases, the desire to do so comes from wanting control over, or an advantage against, that person. This interferes with God’s work and another person’s free will. This is known as psychic spying, and it goes against my ethical boundaries.
I follow the Golden Rule: I do not want my privacy invaded, so I do not invade the privacy of others.
